The World Youth Day event, dreaded for weeks leading up to the event by a lot of vocal Sydneysiders, seems to have ended on a good note, with many visitors impressed by the city of Sydney, and it’s transport system. Apart from a couple of minor glitches, Cityrail seems to have handled the huge influx of visitors quite well. Most of the pilgrims encountered were friendly and really enjoying themselves.
It is always rare to see Cityrail congratulated on a job well done, as the media prefers to report on the faults, rather than what is being done well. Hopefully the smooth running of this event has not gone unnoticed by the people of Sydney.
